Cheryl's Past Projects
Cheryl Stephens has been a driving force in plain language for over 20 years. During that time, she's helped to create an online plain language training project (The Plain Train) and been heavily involved in the creation of a plain language legal dictionary (VCC Multilingual Legal Glossary). She's helped lawyers (Lawyers for Literacy) and police officers (The Literacy and Policing Project) understand how literacy affects their work. And she's has also worked with the Canadian Council of Administrative Tribunals.
Cheryl enjoyed writing and editing Dial-a-Law scripts for Canadian provincial and federal organizations (Dial-a-Law, and acting as business development advisor to Law Courts Center (Law Courts Gift Gallery).
In addition, Cheryl has been involved in several projects that were focused on providing legal education or plain language legal information to the public. (The Access to Justice Network and PLEI.net).
